Sunday afternoon, Ithaca was abuzz with Henry Rollins sightings. Henry at Islands Fitness; Henry on the Commons. By 5:30pm (17:27 hrs, Eastern Daylight Rollins Hours), Rollins posted on his blog: “I am on in less than two hours so I better get ready.” And did he deliver. A packed house gathered, some seated, some standing for a set that lasted in excess of three hours.

Meanwhile, Park Doing and his Cosmic Country Outlaws warmed up an audience for Rollins with a set at Felicia’s Atomic Lounge. Offering interpretations of tear in your beer standards (Merle Haggard, who is set to play GrassRoots this July, was one name that came up), the group strut their stuff for a crowd that quickly headed over to Castaways to catch the last four-fifths of Rollins set.
